Ben and Emily

What a gorgeous wedding day this was, and so very worth the multiple postponements that the lovely Emily and Ben had to deal with!

Between studying, bringing up two sweet daughters and both working, somehow Emily and Ben also managed to organise the most beautiful rustic wedding at the Ash Barton Estate in Braunton, Devon - and amidst a pandemic. These two were one of the first couples to book me after I announced that I would be moving back to Devon from Essex, and we have been on a bit of a rollercoaster together since then, with Covid wrecking their plans around three times! However, they always found the positive side! Emily was able to afford a new, celestial-inspired dress from Barnstaple based bridal shop Evolved Bridal (one of my favourite shops, if not my favourite!), and in between times they had a small private legal ceremony before they planned their bigger, eco-friendly wedding last November.

This day was just lovely. Good people, good food and a good time! Even though the weather was cold and wet, they still got out there to do their couple photos with me, and the results were just beautiful. Everyone was in high spirits! I love that their dog joined them for their photos too, he was such a sweetheart! I am also so impressed by Emily's dedication to holding a sustainable wedding, with zero plastic and eco friendly products. The wedding industry contributes to a lot of single use products and Emily was keen not to do this! However, they did have to get a chainsaw out to cut the cake, to pay homage to Ben's job as a tree surgeon, which was a huge surprise for us all!

Thank you so much to you both for having me be your wedding photographer, and for the encouragement with me moving back to Devon. Your wedding was a sign that I was making the right decision and I couldn't have wished to have spent my last wedding in November with anyone else!
